Fukushima Working On Renewable Energy Research

The area that was hit by the worst nuclear meltdown since Chernobyl is working on renewable energy in the wake of the catastrophic nuclear collapse. The Fukushima Renewable Energy Institute is opening to begin work on renewable energy solutions that will take the place of plants like the reactor that collapsed. With this new initiative starting in Japan, it is possible that the entire Japanese nuclear power structure could be taken offline and replaced with renewable energy.

This change may cause the island nation to change the way it looks at energy. The nuclear power plants worked well for Japan for decades, but it is clear that they are no longer safe enough to meet the standards laid down after this accident.

As they begin research, only time will tell if Japan makes changes, but it is conceivable that Japan could become a world leader in renewable energy.
